What is it for?
A comparison table is what breaks a discussion that keeps going in circles. Choosing between three vendors, weighing up two tools, presenting a recommendation to a committee — as soon as several options compete on several criteria, laying it out visually does half the persuading for you.
How to use it
- List your options, one per line. They become the columns.
- List your criteria, one per line. They become the rows.
- Fill in the grid that appears: y for a tick, n for a cross, or free text. If your data already sits in a spreadsheet, paste it straight into the grid.
- Optionally highlight the column you recommend, then download.
FAQ
How many options and criteria?
Up to 6 option columns and 14 criteria. Beyond that the table becomes unreadable once projected — better to split it into two visuals.
Can I write something other than yes / no?
Yes, any text shows as-is — a price, a lead time, a score. Only y, yes, n, no and their French equivalents turn into icons.
Can I start from an existing spreadsheet?
Yes. Select your range in Excel or Google Sheets, copy it, click the first cell of the grid and paste — everything fills at once.
Can I come back to my table later?
Yes. What you type is kept automatically in your browser, and the Save button lets you keep several tables and return to them. Ctrl+Z undoes the last action, including a paste from Excel.
Is my data sent anywhere?
No. The image is generated by your browser, on your device, and your saved tables never leave this browser.
Does it work on mobile?
Yes, with a "Share" button that sends the image straight to your messages. Typing a table is still far more comfortable on a computer.
