Who is responsible for this data?
voilatools.com is published by Julien BARRI, in a personal capacity. For any question or request about your data: contact@voilatools.com.
What stays on your device and is never sent
The tools run entirely in your browser. The text you type, the visuals you generate and anything you save are stored in your browser's local storage, on your device.
- Your saved documents and the current draft
- Your light or dark theme preference
- The fact that you already joined the waiting list, so we do not ask twice
None of this is sent to us and we have no access to it. You can erase it at any time by clearing your browser's site data. Your saved documents will be lost, because they exist nowhere else.
No advertising cookies, no third-party trackers, no consent banner: this storage exists only to make the tools do what you asked them to do.
When you have an AI fill a tool in
The site sends nothing, and calls no service. The Fill in with AI block builds a piece of text inside your browser, and stops there.
It is you who copies that text and pastes it into the AI of their choice, then brings the answer back into the tool. Exactly as if you pasted the content into any other application. The content of the tool therefore never passes through voilatools.com, and we have no key, no account and no server that could receive it.
What you paste into an AI is, however, governed by the terms and privacy policy of that service, not ours. If the content of your tool is sensitive, that is the question to ask before pasting it, as with any other document.
The paid-offer waiting list
When you reach a limit of the free version, a Notify me button offers to tell you when a paid version ships. If you click it and leave your address, we record:
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Your email address | To write to you once, when the offer ships |
| Where you clicked from | To know which limit was in your way, and build the right offer |
| The tool you were using | To know which tools are actually useful |
| The date of your request | To follow how interest changes over time |
Legal basis: your consent, given by deliberately submitting the form.
Retention: until the paid offer launches, and at most 24 months after you signed up. After that, or if the project stops, the addresses are deleted.
What we will not do: no selling, no sharing, no newsletter, no message other than the one announced. Every email we send will include a way to unsubscribe.
The contact form
If you write to us from the contact page, we receive your message, the category you picked, and your email address if you filled it in. This is used only to reply to you and to improve the site.
Legal basis: our legitimate interest in handling the feedback sent to us. Retention: 24 months.
Visitor statistics
We count visits, pages viewed and a few anonymous actions, such as downloading a visual. That tells us which tools are actually useful.
The measurement works without any cookie, does not keep your IP address, and cannot identify you or follow you across sites. We do not know who visits, only how many people, on which pages, and what gets used. That is why no consent banner is forced on you.
Who else sees this data
We employ nobody and sell nothing. Four technical providers are involved:
- Vercel Inc.: site hosting. Company based in the United States.
- Umami Software, Inc.: audience measurement, with data stored in the European Union.
- Formspree Inc.: form delivery (contact and waiting list). Company based in the United States.
- OVH SAS: domain name and email. Company based in France.
Data sent to Vercel and Formspree may therefore be processed outside the European Union. Audience measurement data stays in Europe. Those transfers are covered by these providers' contractual data protection commitments.
Your rights
European data protection law gives you a right of access, correction, deletion, restriction and portability over the data concerning you, as well as the right to withdraw your consent.
Such requests go to contact@voilatools.com and are handled within a month.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the CNIL, the French data protection authority, or with the supervisory authority of your own country.
Changes
This page will change as the site does, in particular the day user accounts and payment exist. The last update date is shown at the top. Any change that directly affects you will be sent by email if you are on the waiting list.
